How to use the platform

The current version of CERSEI allows you to provide subjective effort ratings related to the activities of the TT284 module on the VLE of the Open University. You can provide two types of ratings:

  1. Estimated effort ratings for the activities you have not completed yet
  2. Actual effort ratings for the activities you have completed

These activities mainly correspond to the activities whithin blue rectangles in the VLE. They also include the "Are you ready?" quiz and the Tutored Marked Assignments.

For instance, this is the Activity 3 in Block 1 - Part 1:

The platform allows you to mark these activities as being not completed or completed. When an activity is not completed, only the estimated effort can be changed; and when an activity is completed, only the actual effort can be changed. By default, all the activities are marked as not completed. You can mark an activity as completed by using the corresponding button on the right of the corresponding row, and you can assign effort ratings using the pen icons in the effort columns. Finally, clicking on the title of the activity will open the activity in the VLE in a new tab. Clicking on the info icon next to the title will toggle a popover with a short description of the activity.

In the example below, a student assigns an estimated effort of 40 to the activity "Thinking about mobile devices", then marks it as completed and assigns an actual effort of 120, i.e., the activity required much more effort than the student expected.

1) Opening the modal window to assign the estimated effort

2) Assigning an effort of 40

3) Marking the activity as completed

4) Opening the modal window to assign the perceived effort
